Privacy Policy
Plain-English version: we collect only what you give us, we don’t use cookies or trackers, and we never sell your information.
Last updated: July 10, 2026 · Applies to this Relay website (a Relay Smart product), operated from Alberta, Canada.
Who we are
This site is operated by Relay Smart (“we”, “us”), a small business based in Alberta, Canada. If you have any privacy question or request, email hello@relaysmart.ca — that inbox is our designated contact for privacy matters under Canada’s PIPEDA and Alberta’s PIPA.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to type into one of our two forms:
- Book-a-call form — your name, business name, email, phone, rough call volume, and anything you write in the message box.
- Set-up-Relay form — your business details, contact name, email, phone, the number you’d like Relay to answer, and your preferences (name, voice, hours, greeting, FAQs and so on).
We do not collect anything automatically — no accounts, no location, no device fingerprinting.
How your information reaches us
This is important and a little unusual: when you press send, the form simply opens your own email app with the details filled in, addressed to hello@relaysmart.ca. The website itself has no database and stores nothing — your information only leaves your device if you choose to send that email. Once we receive it, we hold it in our normal business email and tools to reply to you and set up your service.
Why we use it
Strictly to do what you asked: to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, or build and run your Relay receptionist. We don’t use it for unrelated marketing unless you’ve clearly opted in.
Your consent & contact (CASL)
By ticking the consent box and sending a form, you agree we can contact you about your request. We’ll only message you for that reason. You can withdraw consent or ask us to stop contacting you at any time — just reply to any message or email hello@relaysmart.ca, and we’ll honour it promptly, as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
If we ever send marketing email, every message will clearly identify Relay Smart, include our mailing address, and contain a working unsubscribe link, as CASL requires.
Cookies & tracking
We keep this deliberately clean:
- No cookies. This site sets none.
- No analytics (no Google Analytics or similar), no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackers.
- No third-party requests. Even our fonts are hosted on our own site, so your browser doesn’t quietly contact outside servers (and your IP address isn’t shared with anyone) just by visiting.
Because we use no cookies or tracking, there’s nothing here that requires a cookie-consent banner.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send only as long as we need it to help you — typically no longer than two years after our last contact with you, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will, unless we’re required to keep it.
Your rights
Under Canada’s PIPEDA and Alberta’s PIPA, you can ask us to:
- see what information of yours we hold;
- correct anything that’s wrong;
- delete it; or
- stop contacting you.
Email hello@relaysmart.ca and we’ll take care of it. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. Visitors in the EU or UK may have additional rights under the GDPR (such as data portability and objection) — email us and we’ll honour them.
Sharing & security
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it except with the trusted tools we use to run the business (for example, our email provider) or where the law requires it. We take reasonable steps to keep it safe; no method is ever 100% secure, but the less-is-more approach above keeps your exposure small.
Some of those tools (for example, our email provider) may store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be accessed by local authorities under that country’s laws. Email hello@relaysmart.ca with any questions about our use of service providers outside Canada — that contact can answer them, as Alberta’s PIPA requires.
Accessibility statement
We want this site to work for everyone and aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That includes keyboard navigation, visible focus, readable colour contrast, respect for “reduce motion” settings, and a skip-to-content link. If anything is hard to use with assistive technology, please tell us at hello@relaysmart.ca and we’ll fix it.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
